Sawan Presents Lal Bahadur Shastri from Biographis of Great Personalities. Lal Bahadur Shastri was an Indian statesman and politician who served as the country’s second Prime Minister. The White Revolution, a nationwide drive to improve the production and supply of milk, was championed by him via his support for the Amul milk co-operative in Anand, Gujarat, and through the establishment of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). In 1965, Shastri advocated for the Green Revolution in India, highlighting the need of increasing the country’s food supply. Because of this, food grain output increased, notably in Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, among other places.
