Tarun We and the World Textbook for Class 8

We and the World has been written keeping in mind the latest guideliness given by CBSE and CCE edition. This series for classes 6, 7 and 8 includes activities and exercises as per CCE assessments. Under CCE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation) two kinds of assessments will be conducted Summative and Formative. Summative Assessment involves Short and Long Answer Questions, Multiple Choice, State Whether True/False, Match the Following and Fill in the Blanks to evaluate the child’s progress in class. Formative Assessment evaluates the child’s progress through activities, projects, assignments, class discussion and research work.

Each book has been divided into three units- History, Geography and Social and Political Life.

Many chapters contain Did You Know and Fun Facts which provide additional & interesting information.

At the end of each chapter there is a section called Elsewhere. It tells us something that was happening in another part of the world.

And there are stories from the Upanishads and the Jataka Tales which make the process of learning enjoyable.

Also there are Case Studies, Success Stories and Flow Charts which arouse the child’s interest to know more.

Detailed maps, diagrams and colourful pictures gives us a chance to figure out what life would have been like during that period.

Weblinks provide references on important topics.

Model Test Papers are given at the end of the book in addition to the activities & projects given in each chapter.
