OBS Maths Lab Activities Workbook for Class 5

Math Lab Activities 1-5 is a set of 5 books for Classes1-5. It aims at developing basic concepts in mathematics with the help of activities with concrete objects.

• Activities are given for all important topics in the syllabus.
• Teacher’s notes are provided with each activity on how to implement and extend the activity.

Some of the activities are done to build concepts and should be carried out before introducing the topic. Only after this should the teacher proceed to the textbook to further consolidate the concept and give practice to develop operational skills.

Other activities emphasise application and help to reinforce the concept.

Mathematical games have been introduced in Books 3-5 to develop logical thinking and to bring in an element of fun.
