OBS White Dove Textbook for Class 6

White Dove is a series of eight books (classes 1–8) on value education, peace and citizenship education, and life skills. Through a combination of texts, pictures and thought-provoking exercises, the books raise issues for children to think about. The tasks aim to help children develop the following skills:

• observation
• inference
• logic
• philosophical judgement
• reflection about actions and consequences

The books draw widely from the NCERT guidelines on peace education and take on board UNICEF’s characterisation of life-skills-based education.
